Pink Shirt Day  
Community and Schools
February 23 marks Pink Shirt Day, where we come together in solidarity for bullying awareness. Call to register your class to participate in Pink Shirt Day and receive your Pink Shirt Day Kit filled with Cold Lake Bully Free swag, fun classroom activities and take-homes. Kits will be dropped off by Cold Lake and District FCSS staff on Tuesday, February 22.

Raise the Flag
Families
Join us at City Hall to read the 2022 Pride Proclamation and Raise the Progressive Pride Flag in honouring the 2SLGBTQ+ Community during Pride Month. Come dressed in your favourite rainbow gear.

Rainbow Run & BBQ

Register yourself or your family to join the 2KM Rainbow Colour Run at the Energy Centre. Join us after the run for a Pride Month Family BBQ with lots of fun family activities. Fee applies to registrants of the Rainbow Run.

Design a National Volunteer Week Thank You Card Contest  
All ages
Calling artists of all ages and styles: FCSS is looking for locally created pieces of art that will be published on National Volunteer Week thank you cards. The card template can be found at www.coldlake.com or by contacting FCSS. The winning design will be chosen by the FCSS Advisory Committee and the thank you cards will be distributed free of charge to community organizations with volunteer programs.  The cards will be available for pick up by volunteer organizations April 19 to 22, 2022. Please contact FCSS’s Volunteer Services to reserve the amount of cards for your organization’s volunteers.

National Volunteer Week Contest – Nominate an Outstanding Volunteer to win a Cold Lake Adventure Package
All ages
Recognize outstanding community volunteers by nominating them to win a Cold Lake Adventure Prize Package.  One lucky volunteer will have their name drawn from the entries received and win a prize package consisting of a meal for four at a locally owned restaurant and a Wicked Watersports prize package. Entry forms can be found at www.coldlake.com or picked up at Cold Lake and District FCSS.
To be eligible, nominees must:
-live and volunteer in Cold Lake or the M.D. of Bonnyville
(wards 5 and 6 only)
-be at least 12 years old
-have at least one year of volunteer experience

Win a Neighbourhood Block Party
All ages
Cold Lake and District FCSS wants to hear about the people and features that make great neighbourhoods!  To enter the contest, send us a photo, create a poem, write a story or draw a picture that shows that your neighbourhood is caring and engaged. One entry will be chosen as the party winner.  The party will consist of a hot dog BBQ for 100 people, games, activities, staff and volunteers to facilitate the fun in a public park or community centre close to the winner’s residence.  Entry forms may be found at www.coldlake.com and may be dropped off at Cold Lake and District FCSS or emailed to fcss@coldlake.com. This contest is open to residents of all ages who live in Cold Lake and the Municipal District of Bonnyville Wards 5 and 6.  Submissions become property of Cold Lake and District FCSS and may be used for promotional purposes.

Seniors’ Week Activities - Long-term Care Ice Cream Social

Seniors’ Week is a great opportunity to honour and recognize all that seniors have contributed to making our families and communities stronger. Ice cream and supplies will be distributed to residents at the Cold Lake Long-term Care facility along with an ice cream card of well wishes from volunteers. If you wish to make a card, please call us and we will send you the template.
